Twitter, where your teaser post about an article gets a better response than your article

I’ve seen this recurring theme on Twitter where teasing something exciting you’re working on gets better visibility than sharing the thing itself. One such example is my latest article.

This has been the case not just with Twitter but with Instagram, LinkedIn and all other attention-economy based social networks I’ve been on for years. So I guess it’s a good thing that I deleted my Facebook and Instagram accounts last year, and have only been sparingly active on Twitter since.

Now I’ve decided to completely stop actively posting on the remaining socials I’m on, and will only share things on this blog for those who really care about what I have to say. I don’t care if no one reads my new article but I’m not giving in to the algorithm and helping propagate the attention-mongering mindset that consumes people over there.
