Cycles and fluctuations

Humans invent technology. It eases their lives. Then it becomes their lives. Those who wield the tech then control and influence these lives. Eventually, unrest unearths in the background. An alternate rises over the horizon. People break through the mould to the open skies of new technolgy. That world though is now a new mould. For power wields it to its shape as well. Across millenia, human nature and dynamics haven’t changed. New outliers, new fluctuations in the system, new slivers of hope—but ultimately all abstracted away to influence. Each abstraction stacked atop the last one. Is technology the solution when being free means using it to deprive others of the right?

This post is my submission to the IndieWeb Carnival’s theme for November 2025: Cycles and fluctuations, hosted by Alex Sirac. It was written based on encouragement at an in-person IndieWeb Club meet in Bangalore to participate in this global blogging festival. As for the meet itself, hearing people speak and understand the same language as you for once was happiness. Thank you Ankur and Tanvi.
