# Ars poetica

*Strip it down* 
*make no sound* 
*touch the truth* 
*feel its fruit*

*Here brevity* 
*retorts on humanity* 
*with sobering clarity* 
*and bittersweet gravity*

*Telling terse truths* 
*of our bare beings*

*Here speaking skies* 
*and its lent hand and eyes* 
*make the Moon walk* 
*and its tides talk*

*They preserve love* 
*or touch a nerve* 
*and rumble revolutions*

*Telling terse truths* 
*of our bare beings*

*This is the terse verse* 
*sparing in words* 
*but not inwards.*

A friend recently asked me, “where does your love for poetry come from?” Here’s the answer: My desire for poetry stems from the desire to express fundamental emotional states that life makes you go through, and the desire to capture observations & experiences of the human condition and our very beings.
